Wanderlust

I walk out, alone. It is after dark, and where I am there are few people. It does not matter where, I walk away. Slowly the concerns of the day, of the week melt away into the night. Left alone with my thoughts, I let them wander freely; there is no need to direct them. As my mind wanders so does my body, seeking the turns in the streets that lead towards quiet spaces.

Drawing inspiration from the quietly evocative work of Henry Wessel's Night Walk and Robert Adams' Summer Nights, this work is an exploration of my own nocturnal experience. Walking through these spaces I am interested in the liminality they gain as darkness falls, encouraging transience over scrutiny.
